How to explore Hollow Isles without a walkthrough
Hollow Isles is one of the few mobile games I'd actively tell you to play without a guide. The joy is in spotting a detail — a worn path, an odd reflection — and realising it means something. Looking up the answer robs you of the game's whole point.
That said, a mindset helps. When an island feels like a dead end, the solution is almost always something you've already seen but dismissed. Sail back, look again, and follow the environment rather than hunting for a glowing marker, because there aren't any.
Weather is a mechanic, not just scenery. Storms change what you can reach, so if an island seems impossible, it might just need calmer seas. I lost and found my bearings a few times before that clicked.
It's short, quiet, and best taken one island per sitting. Let it breathe and it stays with you long after the credits.
