Neon Drift Circuit

★★★★★ 4.5 Editor rating

Neon Drift Circuit nails the one thing arcade racers have to get right: the feel of the car. Drifting is forgiving but still skillful, and chaining corners down a neon-lit highway is genuinely thrilling. The tracks are built for speed, with wide sweeping turns that beg you to hold the slide a little longer.

Controls default to tilt steering with a tap-to-drift button, but there's a tidy on-screen wheel option too, which I ended up preferring. Car tuning is simple without being pointless — a few sliders change handling in ways you can actually feel. The soundtrack deserves a mention; it's the kind of thing you leave running.

It's not a simulator and never pretends to be. For quick, flashy races that look fantastic on a phone screen, it's one of the best I've played lately.
