Legends of Slots

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Legends of Slots surprised me. I went in expecting something throwaway and ended up playing it over three evenings. The core loop is about lining up symbols across a grid of rotating lanes — you tap to lock a lane, watch the icons settle, and chase little collection goals that unlock new themed boards. It's the kind of thing you can play one-handed while waiting for a kettle to boil.

Controls are as light as it gets: tap to spin, swipe to switch between boards, and a long press pulls up the collection screen. Everything is generous with feedback — satisfying clicks, soft animations, a little chime when a set completes. There's no steep learning curve at all, which is the point. The themed boards are where it gets charming, with art styles that range from a cosy forest to a star map.

What I liked most was how it respects your time. Sessions end on a natural beat, goals are short, and there's no sense that you're being nagged to come back. It won't challenge anyone looking for depth, but as a relaxing pick-up-and-play title it does exactly what it sets out to do.
